Registration time has arrived! Here's what you need to know

Published Thu 11 Jan 2024

Dear Members of FencingSA,

After working hard in the background for the last few months, we are excited to launch our new website and member portal. Things will look a little different this year, in terms of the website, membership portal and registering for competitions and events, but our aim overall is to make things simpler and easier for you, our members!

The new licence structure is designed to be as simple as possible, and we have removed the need for participation and competition licences for different levels of state competition – there’s one single licence for all FSA competitions and events!

Licence types explained:

  • National Licence: $142 Senior & $120 Junior ($70 + AFF capitation fee) – this licence will allow you to compete in any competition run by the Australian Fencing Federation. For Juniors competing in Melbourne in February, Cadets in Sydney and any U15 fencers wishing to compete in the Australian Youth Circuit (AYC) competitions (including AYC#2 being held at The Lights in Adelaide in April 2024 then this is the licence you will need). It will also allow you to visit any club to fence in Australia.
  • State Licence: $70 – this allows you to participate in club fencing activities and compete in any competition or event run by Fencing SA. Coaches can also use this licence.
  • University students and School Program fencers are entitled to discounted versions of the State Licence:
    • University students : $35 (50% off) – for Full Time Equivalent student members of Adelaide University Fencing Club or Flinders University Fencing Club only. Presidents of those clubs have been provided with a discount code, which you can apply to the State Licence.
    • Schools program participants: $50 – for fencers participating exclusively in after school programs and not participating with a state club, to enable you to participate in FSA events and competitions. School program coaches can contact publicofficer@fencingsa.org.au to obtain a discount code, to pass on to parents and fencers, which can be applied to the State Licence.

To get started, you need to:

  1. If you are an Adelaide Swords Club or Inspiro Club member you need to sign up via your club portal
  2. All members of other clubs please register via: https://www.fencingsa.org.au/registration
  3. Select Returning Member and enter your details. This will automatically generate a confirmation email to be sent.
  4. Follow the renewal link in the confirmation email.
  5. Complete the process – details, payment, etc.

If you want to change licence type during the year, you can kick the process off yourself!
