School Program

SCHOOL PROGRAM

Fencing SA can facilitate fencing programs within schools, and can tailor the program to suit a school's needs. Examples include:
    •    after school programs (once a week, winter season or year-long)
    •    special "short programs" (e.g. after school for six weeks)
    •    during existing PE classes (for a term, or half-term)
    •    "fencing for the stage" - within drama classes or as an after school program

Fencing equipment is required for a program, and is available to hire for short term courses. Schools that run ongoing programs are supported with a gradual buy-in process to purchase their own equipment.
All our coaches are nationally accredited (which includes WWCC).

We currently have programs at: Scotch College, St Peters Boys Junior School .
Fencing programs have previously run at: Pulteney Grammar School, Pembroke, St Johns, Marryatville HS, Prince Alfred College, Christian Brothers College, Heathfield HS, Urrbrae HS, Glenunga HS.

SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

School Competitions have run in a variety of formats over the past 10+ years, providing a fun and encouraging environment for school fencers to experience a formal fencing competition.
FSA aims to run a school-specific individual and teams event at least once per year, but this may vary depending on the number of schools running a fencing program. School fencers are also able to enter other Fencing SA events (e.g. Under 13, Under 15, Under 17/20 - licence depending) once they have gained more confidence.
Visit the Competitions page for more information on competition formats, and the Events and Calendar and News pages for information on the current school competition offering.
