Fencing SA Senior State Team Selection Policy
Fencers qualify on a combination of performance and commitment. To qualify, fencers must have:
- Ranked in the top five of their weapon in the previous calendar year, and
- Demonstrated support for local competitions by fencing in at least half the previous calendar year's applicable local events (rounding up for odd numbers of events e.g. minimum 4 out of 7 tournaments), and
- Demonstrated an intention of fencing Nationally by fencing in at least two national circuit events in the previous calendar year
The executive has the discretion to add to the list but those meeting the above will automatically qualify. These criteria apply to both Open and Veteran Fencers. Junior fencers can qualify on the basis of their senior performances.
